MEET MARIANA NAHED

People share special stories with us when customizing their own Duo Rings so we thought it would be interesting to share with you some of the inspirational stories from the unique personalities we meet. We invite you to get to know some of the amazing ladies we know and get to interview. Let’s celebrate each other’s beautiful stories…

Mariana Nahed is Editor-in-Chief of yasmina.com, and has been working in the media industry since 2006. Her mission is to inspire and empower other women. We discover a lot of great things about her and how she spends her time…

As the Editor-in-Chief of the leading online Arabic portal Yasmina.com, what is the favourite part of your job?

Yasmina.com is my baby and I became a full time mom since it launched 6 years ago! The best part of my job is that there’s no place for routine. You travel, meet new people, and know that millions of women are constantly getting inspired and empowered by the content you put out there, and this is something that makes me want to give more every single day.

And what is the worst part?

Lack of privacy. You are connected 24/7 and can never fully disconnect even if you are on vacation. I always end up stealing at least an hour of my day to check my emails!

Working between Dubai and Lebanon, what is your favourite meeting spot in Dubai, and what do you miss the most when you leave Lebanon?

La Cantine du Faubourg - definitely one of my favourite places in Dubai, but when I am away I miss my daily routine in Lebanon & my mom’s food!

We know you love your dance and fitness! What’s your favourite type of dance? How do you make the time for them?

I love Latin, ballroom dancing and ballet Jazz. I pack my bag early in the morning and head straight to class after work. This is the only time I get to fully disconnect. I try to block out two hours for myself every day in the middle of my crazy schedule.

What are three beauty items you will never leave the house without?

Mascara, concealer and hand cream

If you were a piece of jewelry what would you be and why?

A ring. For me the hands are the key to femininity. The hand gestures, the nails and the rings can tell a lot about a woman.

Yellow, Rose, or White Gold?

Yellow.

What is a typical day/ week like for Mariana Nahed?

I open my eyes, I check Instagram and my emails, then I sip my morning coffee with my mom. I enjoy my day at the office balancing between work and fun. I usually either run straight to my dance/fitness class right after work, or I go out with friends when I am free.

An interesting fact about Mariana Nahed?

Even though I work in the digital media industry. I still believe in reading books and I write my notes on paper!

What subjects/letters did you choose for your HJ Intertwined ring duo, what’s the story?

I chose my initials in Arabic. I like to wear a piece of jewelry that is very personal. I’m very proud of my Arabic language and I try to highlight it in every way possible.

What do you think is the best way to wear your jewelry?

The best way is to mix your jewelry – I like to mix white with gold and pink, and I like to focus every day on one essential piece that will grab attention.

Last but not least, what is a piece of advice you can share with anyone who wants to work in the Fashion and Beauty media industry?

You have to be passionate about Fashion and Beauty. Without passion you will never succeed. My advice is to be yourself, create your own identity, feed your creativity and never forget that you are here to inspire others.
